End Tables

An end table does quiet, essential work. It holds your drink, your phone, your reading glasses, and the lamp that keeps the room lit after sunset. CITA Interior’s end tables are compact Suar wood pieces with the same natural grain and craftsmanship as our larger furniture. Looking for a living room centerpiece instead? Where End Tables Belong in Your Home

The classic placement is beside a sofa arm, holding a table lamp and a coaster for your evening drink. But end tables are more versatile than that. Beside an armchair in a reading nook, they hold your book and tea. Between two accent chairs in a conversation area, a shared end table anchors the arrangement.

In the bedroom, an end table serves as a nightstand alternative. If you prefer a freestanding piece over a wall mounted option, an end table gives you the same functionality with a different aesthetic. For a wall mounted bedroom setup, explore our Floating Nightstand collection.

Choosing the Right End Table Proportions

Height is the most important measurement. Your end table should be roughly the same height as the sofa arm it sits beside. Most sofa arms range from 24 to 28 inches. Going slightly lower is fine. Going noticeably higher looks awkward.

For tabletop size, think about what the end table needs to hold. A lamp and a coaster need about 18 to 22 inches of surface. A larger end table at 24 to 26 inches accommodates a plant, a small tray, and a stack of magazines. Keep the footprint proportional to the furniture it accompanies.

End Tables for Small Spaces

In tight quarters, every square inch matters. Our smallest end tables have a 14 inch diameter and provide just enough surface for the essentials. If you want the option to expand surface area temporarily, pair an end table with a Nesting Table set. The smaller tables tuck underneath and pull out only when you need them.

Selecting Your Finish and Edge

End tables are available in live edge, straight edge, and round slab configurations. Live edge gives a raw, organic look. Straight edge suits modern interiors. Round slabs, cut as cross sections of the trunk, showcase concentric growth rings and work well in eclectic or bohemian rooms.

The default finish is high gloss. Matte, satin, and semi gloss are all available at no extra cost. Darker stains can be applied if you want to deepen the wood’s natural color without losing the grain visibility.
